RE:RE:Was in the Bay the other day..Based on a recent experience of mine, don't hold your breath waiting for HBC to become a factor in online business.
I saw a bed on sale that I tried to order for delivery to my residence in Eastern Ontario. Even though they promoted on their website that a $30 standard charge would apply, imagine my shock when they added $625 (i.e. 60% of the cost of the bed) for delivery. Despite several telephone calls to various depts. including advising them that Costco and Walmart routinely send shipments to me free of delivery, it made no difference at all. In fact I got the impression that I was being presumptive in even suggesting they reduce the charge. So I ordered the same bed from Costco and saved myself $400.........
