RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:free trade?????We to enjoy out time in Canada.
Not to beat the subject to death, however it is important as it is much to blame for Canada's poor economy.
Apples to apples my last hydro bill.
Florida: 492 KWH $68.29 = 0.1388 per KWH and no time of use
Ontario: 87.62 KWH $51.77 0.6829 cents per KWH (most of this to run a gas furnace)
In Florida I pay $5.76 per month while we are away as long as we use less than 200KWH per month.
Bombardier could likely save milions of dollars by moving all Ontario production to Quebec.
IWillRetireSoon wrote: Enjoy Florida. When I was there I was told hydro was more expensive than Ontario. Maybe it is your location? I do know that my recreational property I pay maybe $15 per month in fall spring for the ELECTRICITY, but the transmission fee is $100 for a total of $115 for $15 worth of power. And I do know why as I worked in a factory in the 70's making the parts for the hydro lines.... so they are now 40 to 50 years old and have not been maintained. Combine that with the extra wear and tear due to Canadian winters and that is the main reason our hydro bills are so high.
Yes, many things in US are cheaper but while Florida is nice in Jan. Feb..... I much prefer living in Canada.
