RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Told this can be held in your TFSA You are right sir. But you can't buy United States OTCBB stocks ( over the counter stocks or stocks that used to be called pink sheet stocks...I  bought  National Bank of Greece in the US. At the time I bought it it was on the New York Stock Exchange. After I bought it it was put in the OTCBB...when I bought it I spent around $13,000. They charged me over $6000 in penalties because I had an OTC BB stock in my TFSA....According to them if you put an illegal stock in your TFSA you have until the end of that  year you bought it to remove it....I have a CIBC investors edge account and I buy and sell stocks thru them but they don't have to tell me what I'm doing right or what I'm doing wrong. So obviously they didn't tell me that I had an illegal stock in  my portfolio so hence the $6000 penalty from the government. I was lucky that I had sold  The illegal stock two days before the end of the that year...  so the government removed the penalty....so enough about The TFSA...i'm just telling you people to watch what you put in it because there's big fines involved if you put an  illegal  stock into it
