Did you ask if they ever tried?

I think they may have back quite a few years ago when the oilpatch was singing along.  It may have been around when they did the 3 refineries for the Emirates, which projects never led to any further followups,i.e., a pipeline.

A successful development of the high resistant coating would have been so great of an R&D effort.  Que sera sera.
