Happened beforeYes hopefully after their experience last time they may come back with a substantially higher offer if institutional investors refuse to sell. No matter what happens it will likely be good for shareholders.
So, since we will probably have no choice in what happens here, some of us may end up incurring a sizable capital gains on this transaction if it goes through. ugh!
Since I have owned these shares under one name or another for 20 years and they have been very good to me I think I will put the money back into Brookfield.
The question is, which part of Brookfield is best? Brookfield Infrastructure looks pretty attractive. But then Brookfield Properties will be gaining BOX.UN and their share price has been fairly steady.
Thoughts anyone?
