RE:RE:RE:Insider Speculation vs Blackout periods When you understand a company better than the market, there are opportunties to profit. That's why investors study annual reports, balance sheets, economic projections, and anay other source of information they can get their hands on - in the hopes of coming to understand something that the market has missed.
So who understands a company better than the guys who run it? When you see them buying (or selling), it doesn't mean they are acting on insider information. It means they think the market is undervaluing (or overvaluing) their company. And frankly, I think their opinion on that matter is more valuable than mine.
