RE:RE:France incidentI worked in the industry for 40 plus years. It was on the conventional (ie non nuclear) side of the p[lant. Nothing at all to do with nuclear. Likely a small hydrogen gas leak from the generator. They use hydrogen gas to cool the rotor windings and it looks like some escaped. Hydrogen catches fire very easily. Don't know for sure but looks like that is what it was. As you say NoSleep...shrug. If it happened in a coal plant we would not even know about it. More people killed on the roads every day in the USA than have been killed or injured in the entire lifetime of nuclear power plant operation worldwide. Safest industry in the world without question.
