Math for dummiesJust realized something baffling: Origo (OPP.L) market capitalization is US$10million Kincora (KCC.V) market capitalization is US$30million so the 32% that Origo holds in Kincora represent USD9.7 million...basically the WHOLE MARKET CAPITALIZATION of Origo, giving a value of ZERO for all the other investments of Origo!!!! From here it is easy to speculate: If following the new impulsion given to Kincora by Sam Spring and Robert Friedland joining forces, https://kincoracopper.com/sites/default/files/corporate_presentations/20170215 Kincora Corporate Presentation.pdf the share price of KCC was to jump +50% or +100%...or become a 10 bagger as some suggest (https://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/173194/will-kincora-copper-be-the-next-10-bagger-copper-explorer-173194.html) COULD ORIGO DO NOTHING sitting on its hands (while we all know Mongolia is high volatility) with ONE of its numerous assets valued by the market at a multiple of Origo market capitalisation? Would shareholders of Origo like Pacific Alliance Investment Management and other Lansdowne Partners be cool about a do-nothing attitude? I doubt. May be those could order Origo to DISTRIBUTE to its shareholders the KCC shares! Now if after KCC was to gain momentum, Origo was trimming, wouldn't we see a race between several potential contenders, including Robert Friedland, to grab this unique block of KCC? ...especially keeping in mind what Robert Friedland said in 2005 about Bronze Fox: https://m.resourceinvestor.com/2005/03/07/nothing-like-it-on-planet-earth---robert-friedland "If we have Bronze Fox and Oyu Tolgoi today, and we were just starting the exploration process, it's not at all clear to me that we would screw around with Oyu Tolgoi. The surface manifestations of gold and copper and the aerial extent of the surface manifestations of gold and copper at Bronze Fox are literally keeping us awake at night. We will begin the drilling of Bronze Fox in early April, and we have very fond hopes of doing it yet again." Interesting situation, which as Robert Friedland said is almost keeping me awake at night :)
