RE:TSO3 Appoints Dr. Linda Rosenstock and Mr. Jeffrey Pompeo Before assessing the importance of these prestigious appointments to the TSO3 board, please do your homework and understand who these excellent new people are. They add new insightful perspectives, one being a recognized leader in public health and the other in. And, if the problems of HIA's and scope contamination are not a public health problem and scandal, what are they? Ms. Rosenstock's understanding of the problem of HAI's and her contacts throughout the health care industry, particularly with the FDA and other regulatory agencies, are invaluable.
Dr. Linda Rosenstock served from November 2000 until July 1, 2012 as Dean of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, one of the nation's top ranked schools with 700 graduate students and more than 200 faculty. She holds appointments as Professor in the Departments of Medicine, Health Policy & Management, and Environmental Health Sciences. She is a recognized authority in occupational and environmental health as well as global public health and science policy.
Prior to coming to UCLA, Rosenstock served for nearly seven years as the director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), where she led a staff of 1,500 at the only federal agency mandated to undertake research and prevention activities in occupational safety and health. During her tenure, Rosenstock was instrumental in creating the National Occupational Research Agenda, a framework for guiding occupational safety and health research. She expanded the agency's responsibilities, staff size, and budget – doubling the Institute's annual appropriations. In recognition of her efforts, Rosenstock received the Presidential Distinguished Executive Rank Award, the highest executive service award in the government.
Dr. Rosenstock received her M.D. and M.P.H. from The Johns Hopkins University. She received advanced training at the University of Washington, where she was Chief Resident in Primary Care Internal Medicine and a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar. At the University of Washington, Dr. Rosenstock was active in clinical practice of both general internal medicine and occupational and environmental medicine.
Internationally, Rosenstock has been active in teaching and research in many developing countries and has served as an advisor to the World Health Organization. Rosenstock chaired the United Auto Workers/General Motors Occupational Health Advisory Board. She is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences' Institute of Medicine (IOM). In 2003, she co-chaired the IOM committee addressing public health workforce needs that authored the report "Who Will Keep the Public Healthy? Educating Public Health Professionals for the 21st Century" and in 2011 she chaired the IOM committee that authored the report “Clinical Preventive Services for Women: Closing the Gaps”.
Dr. Rosenstock is past Chair of the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH) and past President of the Society of Medical Administrators (SOMA). In January, 2011, she was appointed by President Barack Obama to the Advisory Group on Prevention, Health Promotion and Integrative and Public Health.

Dr. Linda Rosenstock -- professor of health policy and management as well as environmental science at the Fielding School -- will receive the New York Academy of Medicine's 2016 Stephen Smith Award for Distinguished Contributions in Public Health.

The New York Academy of Medicine announced the recipients of its 2016 awards for distinguished contributions by individuals in health policy, public health, clinical practice, biomedical research and an individual who has made significant contributions to the Academy.
Dr. Linda Rosenstock, Dean Emeritus of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, will receive the Stephen Smith Award for Distinguished Contributions in Public Health for her leadership in occupational and environmental health while director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and in academia, making work environments safer for millions of Americans.
A summary of Mr. Pompeo's experience and expertise is presented in the press release. Of note, he led his company to obtain FDA approval with the FDA in 2016 for their patented wireless medical monitoring device. He brings invaluable insight and experience in the medical devices field to our board.
These latest leadership and management appointees and hires by TSO3 only continue to solidify the position of this emerging company as the leader in the field of low temperature sterilization.
