COPPER CREEK ANNOUNCES BING JUNG ON MEDICAL LEAVE OF ABSENCE AND NAMES GORDON JUNG INTERIM CEO
Bing Jung, Copper Creek Gold Corp.'s chief executive officer, is on an extended medical leave of absence. As the timing of his expected return is uncertain, Copper Creek's board of directors has appointed Gordon Jung, a director of the company, as the interim chief executive officer of the company, effective immediately.
Gordon Jung stated: "As Bing's medical leave continues, and the timing of his recovery and return remains uncertain, I have agreed to step in as CEO on an interim basis. We appreciate the expressions of support and concern for Bing's health that we have received from friends, family and Copper Creek's investors, employees, business partners and other shareholders. While Bing's illness was sudden and unexpected, our management team has stepped in to keep our business on track and thriving."
Gordon Jung has served on Copper Creek's board of directors and as a member of the audit committee since June 29, 2000, as well as acting as the company's chief financial officer from Oct. 29, 2009, to July 6, 2010. He has extensive business experience with over 35 years in retail operations, merchandising, marketing and product development for the Overwaitea Food Group, a major food chain in British Columbia. He was regional manager for 10 retail stores, the director of marketing for the Save On More Loyalty card (two million cardholders) and senior category development manager in charge of putting together isle international foods from around the world, achieving double-digit growth. He specializes in building new opportunities, driving revenues, improving competitive market position, strategic planning, procurement, product marketing and the ability to work well in any environment.
