Trouble is not enough qualified operators to fill the jobs available. Lots of machines sitting idle or been run by trainees. Takes a long time for a loader operator to reach maximum production, Same for processor people or buncher operators.
On site mechanics are in shortage. Many are out pipelining. Hard to compete with the money they get paid there. A serious break down pretty well has to be Lowbedded to town.
Breakdown of a Key machine it can cost $50 grand or more in down time if a spre or replacement is not on hand. Can't afford that in a cyclical industry. Especially when the push is on like it is.
I think Lumber will hit $500 Canadian or more this year.
