RE:Why the Sell-off ?Chinese cuts to steel production announced yesterday. Decision is being framed as choice of clean air and water over industrial production--a win for clean air/water. Since steel is galvanized with zinc spot zinc is tanking as a result of this announcement.
It's a short term reaction. China needs galvanized steel and in the long run and will find a way to get it.
Trevali share price has always been short term sensitive to downside with zinc price--no big surprise. Expect move to upside this Friday with earnings report.
