Banglung Information (FACTS)
Banglung Information (FACTS)Most of the tenement is covered by gently folded Permian sediments and andesitic volcanics. The focal feature of the concession is a central gabbroic intrusion with a strong magnetic signature, and an eastern ridge of hornfelsic micaceous sediment marking its eastern extremity. Small dioritic and granodioritic intrusions occur in the east and south, pinpointed by strong positive magnetic responses. Recent flood basalts dominate the northeast and east of the area. Of particular interest is a northeast trending fault which has determined the location of the Okan River. This has been the focus of some placer mining in the past. Stream sediment geochemical surveys located several catchments of interest, many coinciding with the small intrusives, and these have been followed up by augered 'C' zone geochemical soil surveys at Okalla, Okan West and Okan East. Other areas are equally prospective.
