RE:RE:PDAC DAY ONE..
Barbados, I have never been to PDAC, but I did used to go to the old New York Gold Show. Because you get mining people together in the same place at the same time, some business does get done and discussed even though meeting the public is the primary focus of the conference. I was once present when a newsletter editor (who has since passed away) was using his contact with a large mining finance house to help a junior get financing for a base metals project in South America. The banker, the newsletter writer, and the CEO of the mining junior all ordered lunch and had it sent up to the newsletter writer's hotel room where they were going to go to talk some numbers. Obviously, I was not invited to attend as a retail investor!. However, be assured that business does get conducted simply on the basis of proximity of so many mining executives at a relatively small venue. That CD and Teck personnel might have been quietly discussing business at the back of the Explor booth would not come as a surprise. I know that Chris in the past has used PDAC as a chance to pump Teck reps for info about where they are in regards to TPW. A poster on this board overheard CD doing that at a previous show, and if I remember correctly the head of exploration for Teck expressed (or feigned) surprise that CD had not been kept more in the loop, and had not yet been given some drill results.
