RE:RE:Ignor the rumoursFirebug, in my opinion, any aggregate marketing company can do better at selling aggregate than HBK. I have no idea if they can or will move the HBK aggregate but the odds have shifted in favor of it happening. HBK did ship a single barge load of aggregate so to being the pit back online would take very little effort. What I would like to see is HBK shipping aggregates allong the west coast and supplying long term contracts for basic infrastructure. The type of work that requires aggregates year over year in a long term pridictable pattern. As I understand it, this is what the new plan is. LNG projects will still get bid on but will not be depended on. It would be interesting to see a sand conract with Hawaii!
firebug wrote: SirHumpsalot do you think this new company would be able to sell aggregates and sand throughout the world if indeed we have identified the right one? It would take some fairly descent bucks to get the pit up to snuff to ship via Pan Max but the potential is certainly there. The sand side of things is starting to get a problem for Hawaii and Florida as the ocean wave movements draws the sand out and off the beaches. Environmental concerns could very well restrict these areas attempting to reclaim it off of the ocean floors. SWP would be a very short distance to Hawaii. Perfect dream would be China with all thier new islands being a customer as well. With all thier loose change SWP would be a bargain buy out. Just dreaming a bit there Middleground. lol
