If you really believe this "world is ending" stuff you should hold physical gold (buried in your back yard), survival gear, canned food, and guns. Not stocks. Stocks will quickly lose value once things start unravelling in earnest. And keep a hand gun on you at all times that you can put in your mouth when worst comes to worst. Have you read Cormac McCarthy's "The Road"? Yeah, like that. Otherwise... party!! F uc k man, life is good! Relatively few in human history have it as good as we do today in North America. You know, debt can simply be repudiated if necessary and within a few years things will back to normal. Look at Germany after WWI... then again after WWII... They rebounded so quickly from absolute devastation.
I love life. I love wine... I love my sweet, so sweet (so f uc king SWEET!!) girlfriend... I love the great outdoors... I love fly fishing... ahhhh... if all goes to sheet tomorrow I'll take it like a man and be grateful for one heck of a ride (though maybe I should get a hand gun...) :-)
