Pharmacies will have "all ready" to sell cannabis from April

Pharmacies will have "all ready" to sell cannabis from AprilPanic buttons, one of the orders that pharmacies made to accept marijuana marketing on their premises, are expected to be installed earlier this month.

Pharmacies will have "everything soon" to start selling cannabis at their premises in early April, Uruguayan pharmacy center vice president Alejandro Antalich told Understatement .

According to Antalich, the installation of a panic button in the premises "was the last requirement that the pharmacies requested, so we will have everything ready by April 1", adding that there are 10 pharmacies that already have this service.

"The tests (of the panic button) have been satisfactory. Now the response is being refined and coordinated" with the Ministry of the Interior, said the representative of the union.

Antalich added that now "the deadlines that the president (Tabar Vzquez) in Germany have to be met".

He said in early February in an interview with Deutsche Welle that the sale of marijuana will begin mid-year.

"It is complex but there has been a lot of progress in Uruguay and I believe that in the course of this year, over the middle of the year, we will be in a position to fully implement the law," said Vzquez.

Before the sale becomes effective, it is expected that the Cannabis Regulation and Control Institute (Ircca) will enable registration of marijuana users in the Correo.
