RE:Jumpy88Fergus, your darn tootin its getting serious. I have listened to O'Leary speak on several occasions and while I will agree he sure isnt perfect, I do believe if he does what he says he will go down as one of Canada's better PM's.
What we need is a sharp change of culture, everyone feels they are owed something at the taxpayers expense rather than working hard to get ahead, and pandering politicians are giving into them. Same thing is happening in the US as well. Almost fell off my chair yesterday when I was listening to this lady in the States describe why she didnt want Trumps new health care bill to pass. She said something like.... if his bill passes I may have to pay $2000/mnth for health care..... im only pulling in $753/mnth on welfare !!! Just the way she said it made it seem like its a lifetime award for her, an entitlement.
Was reading somewhere that the avg yrly wage in Canada is $27K/yr yet newly landed immigrants are given over $43K/yr from our govt. No wonder ppl want to come here.
I could go on and on but i digress. I just feel the country needs to stop spending money it doesnt have and if they want to spend money, they have to earn it first. A country should be run no different than a business.
