RE:Another thought on home grow...One thing that you should consider is that the cost of marijuana is currently high because it's illegal. You are in many ways paying for the risk that drug dealers, growers, etc are taking by engaging in the black market. Much like the cocaine market today.
After legalization prices will drop significantly. This hasn't happened yet in Colrado or Washington because mass production hasn't come full steam. Also the general public is still willing to pay high prices. Eventually you'll be able to buy an ounce for $30 just like a pack of cigarettes.
I'm not just speculating here. I spent the better part of my 20s selling and growing pot.
Pot doesn't cost that much to grow. Despite what many people are saying on here. Indoor operations have lots of added costs but most pot will be grown outdoors on farms. That doesn't make it a bad product. There will always be room for connoisseur pot, much like craft beers.
As for the black market, it will always be there but will become almoast negligable over time. The pot black market will eventually be like the cigarette black market today. People smuggling pot to avoid taxes, etc.
