Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:Canada versus California: Are you Diversified?lol. I was reading this and thinking to myself "geez, this sounds like a plug for TNY". Sure enough it is.

The medical marijuana market in California in 2016: roughly $2.7 billion ($2,700 million).

The medical marijuana market in Canada: Dry herb and oils.

The medical marijuana market in California: Dry herb, oils, edibles, beverages, shatter, wax, and other concentrates.

When recreational sales commence in 2018 in both of these jurisdictions, California will continue to be leaps and bounds ahead of the Canadian market. We are not against owning the LPs, as we do own them as well, but it’s important to diversify your portfolio and invest in other companies outside of the Canadian Licensed Producers.
