Firstly, I think most Canadians support decriminalization and legalization in the sense that people feel you should be able to smoke, even grow, your own marijuana. Canadians do not support Starbucks of weed establishments, that's for damn sure. Trudeau simply legalized marijuana. He did not legalize on how it will be sold or even when it will be sold.
Personally I can't imagine a monopoly grower on weed. These stocks were all hype and if the market is open to all, the competition is endless and potheads will go to the ones with the best product, which in my opinion, is highly unlikely to be Canopy or Aurora.
Dump your stocks while you still can. Aurora is finished.
Can you elaborate on your opinion about Aurora being finished? That was actually hilarious but I'm curious about your logic there.
Well I'm talking stock wise. The Liberal plan doesn't really include one. People who invest in marijuana and really believe in the industry are under the false assumption that the Liberals love pot and want to see it flourish; this couldn't be farther away from the truth. In fact, the Liberals have bestowed upon the provinces as to how marijuana will be sold- there is actually no plan to sell marijuana at this point. The thoughts of an "LCBO" or "SAQ" of marijuana is pretty ludacris in my opinion and it won't be accepted. Aurora is the supposed heavyweight of potential, assuming there were only a few players of marijuana sales and recretional use was marketed like alcohol.
It's not just Aurora who will actually fail, it's also Canopy and the other major players like Aphria in my opinion. I do not anticipate we will even see legal marijuana recreational sales on a large marketing platfrom before 2019, if ever. I could envisualize small mom and pop shops selling weed as they already do in places like downtown Toronto and Vancouver, but do not imagine we will see "packs of weed" distrubuted across Canada and widely accessible as some think it may be retail wise.
You haven't explained why you think Aurora "is finished". That's a very strong, definitive statement but you don't explain how you get there at all. Everything else you said other than the Starbucks thing sounds completely ridiculous from this end.
