RE:TSO3 To Publish Innovative Validation Method For Multi...There might have been a time when the focus was on the distal point (ie the head of the scopes) as the entry point to contamination. Then the attention shifted to the integrity of the disinfection procedures. More recently, many researchers have found or at least suggested that as they are used the scopes develop minuscule cracks and breaks.. that make them just even harder to fully disinfect. They do not wear out good. As an example, see

The paper additionally discusses how the inoculation method and the sterilizer performance were validated using high and low level recovery methods as well as half-cycle, simulated-use, and “in-use” clinical testing.
From the release, the Tso3 technology has been validated over actual in use and hopefully worn-out scopes.
It would be a great step.
