I don't get stuff as brought up by Don Rudy below related to your article or Keubiko's thesis. Hoping some some point, counter point possible here if either or both of youcare to reply starting on any of below.

-don't you think the company has effectively designed a product that overcomes the technical design hurdles of past technology in this field? Its smaller, lighter and takes images comparable to existing tech.
