Cominar Real Estate Investment Trust Unit T.CUF.UN

Primary Symbol: CMLEF

Cominar Real Estate Investment Trust is a Canadian REIT involved in the ownership and management of properties throughout the Canadian provinces. Cominar's real estate portfolio comprises a mix of office, retail, and industrial and mixed-use properties. While industrial and mixed-use assets are the most numerous and command the most square footage in the company's portfolio, office and retail locations combined represent the vast majority of the portfolio's total value. Most of Cominar's properties are located in the Greater Quebec City and Montreal areas. The company derives nearly all of its revenue from rental income from its investment properties. The source of this revenue is largely split between Cominar's office and retail locations.

RE:RE:Harperhater

RE:RE:HarperhaterOn a side note.. I am starting to stay away from retail mall owning reits. I am seeing a trend where rents are going up significantly and there vacant stores are staying vacant for years in some cases.. I have seen this personally while investigating retail space to expand my own store locations. CUF has some retail but not that much so Im ok with it, but I think other reits with high retail space allocations are going to be stable in a postiive economy but are going to get hit very hard at the next recession and have trouble ever recovering. I even look at my kids, 1/2 the products they order are online, not at shopping malls, I think this trend is only going to grow. .. I like reits, but apartment reits is where most of my money is going lately.
