I'm sure that HSE has been watching the CVE fiasco with interest. Shareholder rage over the CVE deal should alert HSE that further large scale acquisition of heavy oils at the expense of the downstream is not a great idea. Hse has a solid balance sheet, I hope it will stay that way but 2 months ago I would have told you that CVE had a conservative balance sheet game plan that was the envy of the industry---well obviously not so--what a shocker. They went back and re-created PanCanadian. It's now come full circle. Let's hope that HSE sticks to its knitting and increases reserves with the smaller thermal in-situ projects. Please no debt laden deals.
