EXASExas is not going to acquire CRH. Exas is a diagnostic testing products company and CRH is a anesthesia facilities operator. Two completely different businesses. People are associating the two who have no idea what they are talking about, they just see that both are in some business to do with the colon.
By the way products like cologard have been around forever. There are a number of stool immunochemical tests for colon cancer that also do a mediocre job of picking it up like Cologard does. When a test picks up 92% of cancer, that means it misses 8% which is a high percentage. And when it tells you that you have cancer and you in fact don't for 13% of people, well, that's not a great test.
How effective is Cologuard?
In a 10,000-patient clinical study, Cologuard found 92% of colon cancers.1 It also found 69% of high-risk precancers (high-grade dysplasia), those most likely to develop into cancer.
Both false positives and false negatives do occur. In a clinical study of Cologuard, 13% of people without cancer or precancer tested positive. Any positive should be followed by a diagnostic colonoscopy.
