A bit of history......

A bit of history......Don't know how far back some have been involved with in i-gaming.

Back in 2000-2002, can't remember exactly.... Peter Hodson, current ower of 5i Research and former Chairman of Sprott Asset Management was a big proponent of Chartwell which NYX gobbled up a couple of years back.

Eric Nuttal is the latest example of Sprott getting into igaming in a big way.
Peter Hodson was one of the original "regulars" on BNN touting his picks. He was one of the best.
I came across Chartwell while doing DD on Cryptologic. Both were successful CDN online gaming firms which provided online software ONLY at the time. CRYP later got into their own B2C casino and poker businesses which spawned the spinoff, Intertain now JackpotJoy. Unfortunately, CRYP and Chartwell did not have good legacy software and needed major revamping to the point that their purchase value needed to be written down.

My point in all this?? Peter was a huge supporter of Chartwell. He rode Chartwell to over $12 in a very short time span. Don't recall exactly when he bought although I'm sure someone can find it. It was likely around the $3 mark as I recall buying at roughly the same time he was promoting his pick on BNN. It was actually on Report on Business (RoBtv) at the time as I recall correctly. He made Sprott quite a bit on the position I'm sure. Nuttal is a smart guy. I'm sure he's been told and reminded of the Peter Hodson story. Nuttal will stick with the story as long as he keeps the eye on the prize.

Nuttal like many of us here can see the potential for a multiple gain on the stock. I'm sure he's quite upset at fielding upset phone calls from angry investors. Eye on the prize is the goal.

Don't know how many care although I thought I'd throw out some tid-bits from Sprott's golden days when both i-gaming and golds were running high. Great times !

sb
