1Q2017 Conference Call & Target 2020I thought the first quarter 2017 conference call went well. This was the best I can recall I have ever heard John Carson sound on a call, he continues to improve, just as the rest of the team. In hindsight, it seems as if he has really grown over the past 12-18 months.
A little disappointed about earnings, but you cannot control the snow fall or melt or when the wind blows I guess. I wonder if in the future this will be balanced out with other power plants in other regions and technologies.
There were a lot of questions at the end. Analysts were engaged and had followup questions.
It was a great call to get everyone refocused on the amount of production coming online this year, 2019 and 2020.
We should all be targeting 2020 as the long-term goal of AXY. The next 3 years should be worth all of the "pain" and "frustration" of the past. It reminds me of the reality that it is always darkest before dawn. The next 3 years it should being to shine a little brighter and a little brighter and a little brighter.
It looks like the team is making pivots and adjustments necessary as well as adding production. As long as they continue to do that (pivot and add production), the company will do well. Eventually, the market will take notice.
As Buffet stated "“be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful”
Benjamin Graham stated, "Most of the time common stocks are subject to irrational and excessive price fluctuations in both directions as the consequence of the ingrained tendency of most people to speculate or gamble... to give way to hope, fear and greed."
Don't let your emotions drive you to make your decisions; the fear to sell at a low price or to purchase high or out of hope.
I am confident in the future of this company and I will continue to add to my position on weakness when I can. Any investment sub $5 CAD or sub $3.80 US, in my opinion, is worth the risk; you get the same rate of return as your money market, but the upside potential of a growing renewable utility and Mr. Beaty.
