RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Several analyst upgrades this amWell you have your opinion and I have mine
Very important point is, not all camera companies are the same
in high end, western made cameras there is avo and axis. Axis in now owned by Japan and who knows where all the critical parts that can hide code ar made?
remeber, we are not talking pizza parlours or even offic tower systems but pieces of network hardware that hang off of gov and high companies.  If I wanted made in Japan, china or Korea there is no shortage of good cameras.  In the case of HIK vision, if security wasn't a concern I would say these cameras in the 3 mp strength far out perform avo or axis any day of the week. Great cams and excellent pricing.  Same for a wide number of them.   Don't need their software, simply go to genetec, milestone.... and bobs my uncle

you want ant high end made in Japan. Go panasonic or Pelco.  Not as good as avo or axis but good and while not made in the US they are not Chinese

so to recap, avo, axis, Bosch ( hardly see them in North America) are only western companies that pop to mind.  Arecont which is great is owned by a Russian so that strokes them off in many circles

with exception of avo, All the other camera companies have close relationships with software companies and don't do too much in house.  Avo does.

Nope, I bought a camera company, not software or certainly not card access.   Lots of software companies. In security Ibut they tend to be private    Card access I would buy G4s that owns AMAG, or buy Honeywell and tyco

now that's a security consultants opinion
all I do is look at who makes what and marry them up to clients

i will and and have made Recommendations that were not avo.   Professional s pick what the coi my needs.  If a cli not wants integrated security I would not pick avo, if they want just stand Alain's and are ok with what avo offers in analytics then they get avo.  If they do not need the high end avo cameras and want more software options I would send them to axis
