IVN Gets Less Than 22% of the ProfitsIf the Congo gets 55% of the profits, 35% as corporate tax and 20% as a "gift" just because they happen to have an assertive military, then that only leaves 45% for everyone else. The Chinese have slightly more than half, or 23%. So, IVN is left with 22% of the profits. Then there are small royalties, slightly trimming profits yet further.
It reminds me of Ernest Hemmingway's Old Man and the Sea. This old guy catches a giant fish, but by the time he gets it back to shore, there is hardly anything left. The sharks ate it.
