What does GSV have to do with NUG?If you search both symbols, there's a lot of articles comparing both. Here, I want to focus on the disaster for junior mimers caused by GDXJ's rebalancing. Why not? There's nothing else happening.
Not long ago, GDXJ owned no GSV. Then they acquired 10% of GSV. Then they decided they couldn't operate among junior miners without rocking the boat too much. GSV is proof of that.
NUG and other juniors have been rocked by the resulting tides, waves, and currents.
GDXJ will make public their rebalanced holdings soon, about a week into June. But it is no secret, GDXJ is still expected to own more GSV than a few months ago.
I think the selling to rebalance has occured, and I don't understand the amount of short positions remaining in GSV. I do know they have to buy sometime. Is it institutions? I don't think most individuals can short a low priced stock like GSV. Regardless, if GDXJ settles down, and GSV announces some good news, it could trigger a nice short covering rally.
NUG? it could benefit from the end of the disruptions that rocked it. A little news of its own would help.
