I just returned from a few days at the AGM and related meetings, and I think Panmure Gordon's update captures the general feel extremely well, and is a great representative summary.
One of the coolest things about the AGM and the Shareholders dinner... aside from having the opportunity to chat with most of the key mgmt and board members, is having the opportunity to have high level discussions with a great network of big investors in this company. We all have our concerns and criticisms, and perhaps most importantly , we all approach the situation from a slightly different angle and point of view based on our experience and backgrounds.
What I can say unequivocaly, is despite a fair amount of concern around share price and burn rate etc going into the meetings... you were really hard pressed to hear ANYONE express any meaningful concerns after the AGM and Shareholder dinner. The presentation, the organization, the progress, the depth of thought being put into so many aspects of this business... were all extremely impressive.....and I didnt talk to anyone who didnt leave with that overwhelming feeling.
While there is no doubt that some key things have and are taking a little longer than the optimistic scenarios, its all COMING... and its coming in a big way. Some of it is much bigger than any of us expected. The Pg opportunity alone is simply staggering.... to the extent that the rest is almost all just a lottery ticket with great odds. The depth and experience of the recent hirings for the Pg production, marketing and rollout is fantastic. They have some really solid people in place, and the depth and detail of their effort and progress is impressive. The amount of inbound traffic interest in Pg is reportedly huge. WHen you layer in the compelling first hand patient accounts of efficacy, you know word of mouth will travel like wildfire, as it will for off label use.
I had the pleasure of sitting at dinner with Bruce Pritchard, Doug Cooper and Lynn Gagnon ( amongst others ) and the conversation was electric. Bruce and Lynn are both particularly impressive and confident We also had plenty of phenomenal conversations with Dr Moran. What an incredibly intelligent and articulate man. He exudes confidence in where this is all going.
In the end guys, YES this has been a painful 12 months. THe stock performance has been awful. But literally, this overwhelming negativity that has been fostered on this board will become almost entirely irelevant in very short order. THis notion of a rights offering is utter unfounded nonsense. This company has many many viable options for funding the future... and non of them include a public equity or rights offering. This was made entirely clear.
There simply will not be a means for shorts to cover their position other than buying at market. And WHEN... not IF.... the good news starts breaking.... There simply wont be much stock for sale as the MO guys jum back in and buy....and this stock will GAP back to credible levels and higher as these guys scramble to cover the 50-60mm shares they are short.
GAME over... the bottom is in. The next 90 days is going to be incredible. START THAT COUNTDOWN
