Tragically Hip

Tragically HipGuys, this is a little off topic, but anyway it is still about dope stocks.  I have been getting tweets and now news stories about The TragicallyHIp Band investing in this new Licenced Producer called NewStrike, which will use the HIP name, and is set to start trading on Thursday on the TSX Venture, as HIP.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/medical-marijuana-tragically-hip-partnership-1.4137348

It just seems like a huge amount of hipe.  I follow on Twitter Brett Wilson, Calgaries own, and part owner of the Nashville Preditors.  He was that guy on Dragons Den that invested in just about everything including Electric Kitten Washers and things like that, I think that was just play money for him.  I am sure it was a bit of a lost leader for him.  Very nice guy great Calgarian and philanthropist, and if you are around Calgary and you have Prostate issues you will be thanking him and Seamans, for the clinic they built at the Rocky View.

So Wilson sends out a tweet saying he is also an investor in this new company NewStrike.

He has a huge audiance....so what are we to make of this?

Lead singer Gord Downy was diagnosed with inoperable Brain Cancer and did their last concert last fall,  at which our PM Trudeau attended.  Remember that?  So this is about as high profile a stock release as there is. I watched that concert and enjoyed most of it, Gord Downy is a weird performer by his own admission,  his stage performance is just weird, but his music is in my head and his heart is so solid and real and right with the world, that you just want to believe in these guys.

So what do you do, when you know you are going to die, and you have some money in a famous band that you want to use to promote your name and presumably make profits for your heirs?     Good motivation questions I think.

Anyway,  I have Thursday off, and thought maybe I should hang around my computer, watch the initial trend and then jump in with a few k and then bail by noon, and then go get a nice frapachino.  Calgary is just too hot these days.

Your thoughts....?
