Mine in Santander To Quadruple Gold Production In ColombiaDeputy Minister of Mines, Carlos Cante Bridges  said gold production for 2016 was 61.81 tons with  growth of 4.40%, compared with  production of 59.20 tons in 2015.    The Minister recalled that in 2016 they managed to license another project of great underground mining (Continental Gold)which will double production of legal gold, "and hopefully ending this year, we'll manage the licensing of an even larger project in Santander, which will quadruple our production gold, "he said.
 
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Mines, Carlos Cante; Governor Antioch, Luis Prez; Liz lvarez, Secretary of Mines of the Government of Antioquia; the President of the National Mining Agency, Silvana Habib; Angel Santiago, President of the Colombian Association of Mining; Miguel Molano, Deputy Director of Legal Oro USAID Program; Alejandro Santos, Director of Semana magazine; and directors of companies in the mining sector in Colombia.
