Michael Berk is an active a member of the board of directors of Player's Network, Inc. (PNTV). Michael Berk is a veteran writer and producer who is perhaps best known as the co-creator and Executive Producer of the popular hit television series "BAYWATCH.", which ran from 1989-2001, cited by the Guinness Book of World Records as the Most Watched Television Series in History with over 1.1 billion viewers. Berk also produced the 100-million-dollar "BAYWATCH MOVIE" starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Zac Efron and Priyanka Chopra opening worldwide Memorial Day Weekend 2017. Berk wrote the award-winning feature film "SOUL SURFER" starring AnnaSophia Robb, Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid, that received an "A+" Cinema score, won the Movie Guide Award as most inspirational movie of the year, and became the highest grossing surf movie of all time. After graduating from UCLA, Berk wrote and produced numerous movies for television, including the multiple Emmy AAward-winning3-hour Event Movie "The Incredible Journey of Dr. Meg Laurel," which became the highest rated movie of the year, and another 3-hour Event and Golden Globe nominated Movie "Ordeal of Dr. Mudd" starring Dennis Weaver", which won two Emmy Awards. Berk wrote and produced "The Wild and The Free" starring Linda Gray, "The Haunting Passion" starring Jane Seymour which won the Venice Film Festival Jury Award, "The Last Song", for which Berk won the prestigious Edgar Allan Poe Award for Mystery Writing, and "Crime of Innocence" starring Andy Griffith, based on a true story that resulted in the laws about incarcerating juveniles in adult jails being changed throughout the country. After success in TV movies, 20th Century Fox signed Berk to a long-term contract during which time he wrote and Executive Produce television series such as "Manimal" and "The Wizard" starring David Rappaport of "Time Bandits" fame playing a brilliant toymaker who used his toys the way MacGyver used ordinary objects. While still an active showrunner on Baywatch for eleven seasons, Berk continued to create new series and write and produce TV Movies and Pilots including "Thunder in Paradise", "Baywatch Nights", "Daytona Beach" for Disney and ABC, "Bright Light City" for MGM and NBC, and three large-scale television movies, "Steel Chariots" for the FOX Network, "Assault on Devil's Island" for TNT, and its sequel, "Assault on Death Mountain". Over his film and television career, Berk's diverse roster of credits have garnered Emmy Awards, Golden Globe nominations, the Edgar Allan Poe Award, the Christopher Award, the Red Cross Spirit Award, the Ark Trust Award, and the Heal The Bay Environmental Award. Berk is one of the founders of Players Network and has created and produced hundreds of hours of programming for the network, as well as promotional and marketing materials for PNTV, Green Leaf Farms, and the "High Stakes" series for WeedTV. In Las Vegas, Berk created the Las Vegas International Film Festival CineVegas, was nominated for the prestigious Las Vegas Achievement Award in Arts and Entertainment three times, and awarded it once, and received numerous Senatorial, Gubernatorial, and Mayoral proclamations from Nevada and Las Vegas.
