RE:RE:RE:RE:Take over when?
RE:RE:RE:RE:Take over when?So there was a conference in St. Petersburg which the CEO of Nordgold had the opportunity to speak. His comments are pretty revealing. I believe their focus will continue in Africa. They're there already in size, they know the area and the players. The region is ripe for takeovers and consolidation. Big resource finds are popping up all over Burkina Faso. What they need is cash, and sooner is better. I'm looking for a deal to be made with IAG or Newmont in FG, and a stake in the company, (19.9%) in the company. Newmont is strong in Nevada, IAG wishes to be. Here's the quote:
"There are several things that attracted us to Africa. One of them is specific to the mining industry, we still can find very high quality deposits in African countries. The second very important thing is that the both governments of Guinea and Burkina Faso are very constructive towards investments of the international companies and in particular towards mining companies. They understand that mining industry brings value not only to the companies themselves but also to the countries where they operate. And the third thing is people. They are hard working, they have willing to learn.
“We remain deeply committed to Africa and believe there is still considerable scope for further investment into the continent. Russian business certainly has a role to play, alongside the broader international investment community."
