" Enthusiastic Hyperbole" "Conrad Clemiss and James Nelson's Spearmint Resources Inc. (SRJ), unchanged at 2.5 cents on 1.67 million shares, has acquired four vanadium prospects in the Chibougamau region of Northern Quebec. Mr. Nelson, president and CEO, says that the 2,775 hectares of new claims are "in the direct vicinity" of the Ilmenite property that the private BlackRock Metals hopes to mine. They also border the Lac Dore property, which is touted by Adriaan Bakker's Vanadiumcorp Resource Inc. (VRB: $0.145), and the Mont Sorcier property that is being promoted by John Priestner's Vanadium One Energy Corp. (VONE: $0.145).
Mr. Nelson, president, says that Spearmint's new projects put it "in the heart of the expanding Chibougamau mining district's vanadium circle," a bit of enthusiastic hyperbole that suggests he should fit right in with Mr. Bakker and Mr. Priestner. Mr. Nelson says that vanadium is getting notice these days because of its use in energy storage batteries and as a result, he is pleased that Spearmint was "able to acquire a significant footprint in one of Canada's best-known vanadium districts." (Some might argue that the Chibougamau area is Canada's only vanadium district; others might suggest that deeming a few clustered deposits to be a district is a stretch.)"
