He comes from Purdue Pharma. Given his job there and how Purdue is interested in external deals it may not be surprising if BTI signs a deal with Purdue. I've seen them refered to as the most notorious pharma in the world given their role in the opioid crisis. Maybe BTI will want a different partner, however.
