Main issue is Mattson has founders diesease.  He refuses to break up the baby which he founded, nurtured and grew from scratch despite 1B in debt.  Smart move would have been to go the Trican path and at least sell off the USA assets several months back and/or other overseas assets.  CFW is a 1/4 the size of the merged TCW/FRC, very sad...they were out manuevered by Trican.
