RE:FranceThanks crude. The big news here is that they can start it up. Flamanville 3 is a huge reactor at 1650MW one of the largest PWR's ever built. Its fuel consumption will be equally large. The French (AREVA) is builkding another similar one in Finland. So that means in the next year or two both of these big plants will be started up. These two alone are equal to 4 Japanese Reactors of the Sendai 1/2 type.
Good news indeed. The French regulator has however only given permission to operate it until 2024 to give time for a new reactor head to be installed so not entirely without strings but it all requires fuel and that requires enrichers and Uranium which just coils the Uranium spring ever tighter.
