I have Star Touch and Lapresse both downloaded.  On any given day Star Touch has 1 or 2 ads and Lapresse is full of ads (probably every second page).  You dont need a finanical statement to tell you advertisers like the Lapresse product.  I think the discrepancy here betweeen two products is simple.  Lapresse has no more print so one needs to take it or leave it.  If Toronto Star cancelled all print they would likely have the same result.  Would be a bold move though and could see why they are reluctant to do it.
