Lots of venom on here unfortunately and I personally try to use these forums as sounding boards. I don't make decisions based on what I read here but getting perspective from others is always helpful.

I am sure you are not alone in terms of a 'I am super pissed-off' recent sale of a RE position. I tend to believe cooler heads will prevail and on paper there is some reason for optimism. We shall see. GLTA
