Start-Up Issues or Management Issues

Start-Up Issues or Management IssuesIn an earlier post I stated that we would have a good idea on the annual production targets after a couple of months. The first of those months is now in the can, and it wasn't pretty. It wasn't terrible as long as it doesn't form a pattern. Start-ups are usually troublesome, and it would have been better to have a more modest production forecast for the first few months. Management was obviously trying to peddle stock in June. Going forward will be a test of management credibility. If there are further breakdowns of major equipment, they should be disclosed when they happen, not when they become excuses for production failures.
