The banks are pushing the envelope now at the expense of ordinary Canadians.  I predict !@#$ will hit the fan at some point, not touching those bank stocks with a 10' pole.

Pablo, the National Bank lawyer was only there, to give the "don't bother me with your complaints" statement.  He really didn't care what happened in the dispute between Debenture Holders and Trade Payables.  The main point was "if I have to read your emails, I will charge you for wasting my time".

I believe he requested the Ad Hoc lawyers, to make the statement in Court, to "send out the message".  So he was permitted to make the statements, then stepped back to watch the proceedings.  I'd have to get a copy of the Court Transcripts, to read exactly how it was stated.

I agree that the banks continue to make great profits, at the expense of Canadians.  There are only so many service charges that can be thought up, to keep the profits high.  If the GDP growth in Canada, is based just on Financial Service Charges, and Legal Expenses, then Canada is in trouble, as it is all robbing one person to pay another.
