energconsultant wrote: so you want to get the gov't involved in the oil bizz...LOL  sounds like a stupid idea.... maybe brings memories of a long ago gov't exerxcise to run among the oil sector via petro can.... maybe you like the idea where petro can could back in 25% on all the oil and gas,,, after someone proves it up, the gov't backed company takes 25%..  and just for kicks allow frontier explorartion where the costs are born by the tax payers... like Dome pete... lets pay for some artificial islands in the beauford and drill some $20 mill wells and hell who cares if it hits or not... the taxpayer paid for it....LOL  yes sounds pretty stupid..., kinda what I would expect from a total idiot like you...LOL

funny when at court they ask for any statement from a deb holder... and you were there, you posted you owned the debs.... but of course you don't so you said not a word cause in fact you own shares that are all worthless you simple minded fool...LOL

Energconsultant, you crack me up, with your inability to properly read what I was saying.  Then you just ramble on about various topics on this bulletin board, while never having owned TBE, but just stimulating your endorphins by watching the pain that others are suffering.  Nothing would satisfy me more to see you paying more income tax, to help bail out us investors that have lost money.

I didn't say get the Govenrment directly involved in the oil industry, in the last post: I was just suggesting that maybe National Bank should be nationalized, if they can't work for the benefit of all Canadians.  But if the Government were to backstop the loans, and allow the struggling companies to survive, then maybe that would have been another path to pursue, and alot less hostile than actually nationalizing a bank.

Perhaps your suggestion on the Government backing into actual oil projects, has some validity.  In this case, the Government company could be given the option to purchase a portion of a project, but I would rather just see the Government backstopping debt, to keep investor's holdings intact.

What has happened in Canada, is another foreign Government aquiring many distressed assets, at the bottom of the price cycle, under the guise of numerous independant companies.  So many small acquisitions, flying under the radar of Investment Canada, are transferring Canadian wealth offshore.  That doesn't help Canada, overall.  I'd prefer to see a Canadian company buying assets, even if it was a Government-backed company, versus a foreign Government backed company.

Once again, your reading needs some practice: I said that the Judge asked if the Debenture Holder that complained about National Bank, was in attendance.  It wasn't me that complained, so I had no need to speak up in Court.

Trust me: I'll recover some of my TBE stock losses, on the gain in debentures.  Just too bad things couldn't work out to keep the company going.
