Silicon in Batteries

Do all EV batteries have a silicon component or is it just the lith-ion ones? I bought back into HPQ when I discovered that lith-ion batteries use silicon, just as I bought into various cobalt companies when I found out about cobalt's use in lith-ion batteries?

It takes 11 hours to drive from a proposed cobalt mine in Idaho to Musk's giga factory in Nevada. How long would it take to get there from Quebec?
