Thinking Back, But Looking Forward to the Future

Thinking Back, But Looking Forward to the FutureHey Mates,

You may remember, during part of my June 19 post that I suggested:

" PE did an exceptional job as CEO, stick-handling our company through the exceptionally difficult and challenging Exploration and Development stages.  During these stages the type of leadership skills needed differs dramatically from that necessary to run daily operations of a Producer....".

I went on to say ...

"I expect the search for just the right helmsman with the key Production-tested CEO skill-set we need, may take a few months to complete, but the wait should be well worthwhile for us down the road...."

During May and then towards late June, while pessimism prevailed I continued to add considerably to my, and my family's positions as weak hands bailed.  It was one of the best opportunities afforded me during my 40 years as an investor. I just could not understand the criticism of management, bordering on hysteria, that some posters were spouting, and would not waste my time responding.

The view forward looks very good. We won't have all "up days" and there will be a few bumps along the way, but we have a top management team, a top geological team and we own 49% of the Western Hemishere's richest new diamond mine.  We also are approaching those seasons of the year when demand for quality diamonds has traditionally started to accelerate.

Michael Jordan said something that has always been one of my inspirations ..."If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."

As I've said before, amidst criticism ... Blue skies ahead!

Cheers,

Brit
