RE:RE:RE:There well in the 1980,s  i could order my meat and get it delivered but at such a high cost or in a minimum amount... it was the same as buying a side of beef... those businesses are still operating... but did not take over the grocery world... as far as safeway is concerned they did the right thing by selling out because they did not change their styles... same as the richelieu chain in quebec that is now gone........amazon is selling a lot  on line.... but that did not stop canadian tire from growing!!!!  other retailers like walmart swallowed smaller store like woolworth
i do not know if you shopped outside the western provinces.... but the iga brand in quebec and the sobeys brand in eastern canada are really strong competing with metro in quebec with loblaws in third....  expensive mistake to take on safeway for the amount of money they paid but they will get over it...
