RE:RE:After hours tradiing

RE:RE:After hours tradiing
There are probably quite a few on this board that know this, but here it is, in case I am the first to respond to yor inquiry.

"TSX After Hours Trading" is nothing like the US scenario. Our equivalent of after hours trading spans a specific time period of 4:00 pm to 4:15 pm. and is referred to as a "Market on Close" (MOC) trade, which essentially attemps to deal with market imbalances on the buy/sell side.

The "imbalance" is posted at 3:45 and details the extent of the imbalance (25K, 50K, 100K etc....). If "someone" or a designated "Market Makker" (MM) wants to react, they can fill the trade before 4:15 pm, which may push the SP up or down after 4:00 pm, which most people think, and usually does, represent the closing price of the stock on any given day. Also the trade may not be filled at all, in which case the 4:00 p, close level will remain in place until the next trading day.

To find if there is an "MOC" trade in play on the TSX or TSX-V, you can check at or after 3:45 pm at https://www.tmxmoney.com/en/moc/Moc.html. You can look up any given stock by symbol.

Hope this helpful. Welcome to a higher level of trading data. GLTA
