Ordinance 573 - Medical Cannabis Distribution/Transportation

To answer some earlier questions:

• Does anyone have any information on how MJ is currently distributed in California? Yes, you need a Distribution/Transportation license and these are controlled and awarded by the municipality (City of Adelanto in the case of LDS)
• Are there any advertised distributors offering services or is it much more discreet for very obvious legal and security reasons? Probably, I have not looked. The licenses are quite coveted.
• I imagine that as they move to legalization in there is likely a more formal state regulated process for transportation and distribution...licenses. Yup.
• Would be interesting if this transport license info is posted on the state website or somehow available or is it still very discreet to protect very valuable cargo? See below.

On June 28, 2017, the City Council approved the First Reading of Ordinance 573. Ordinance 573 is essentially an amendment to section 17.80.100 of the Adelanto Municipal Code (AMC) pertaining to regulation of medical cannabis distribution and transportation (think moving large amounts of cannabis and cannabis products between cultivators / manufacturers and dispensaries).

On July 12, 2017, the City Council approved the Second Reading of Ordinance 573 which is the date of final passage. As in Section 9 of Ordinance 572, Ordinance 573 has a Section 10 with a similar clause.

It states that this Ordinance will go into effect 30 days after its final passage (30 days after July 12). This means that in about 17 days, the City of Adelanto will be granting medical cannabis distribution and transportation licenses to applicants that meet the criteria (defined in the Ordinance).

I'm no rocket scientist but if LDS is acting in the best interest of shareholders they will bypass Azonic and apply to secure one of those coveted medical cannabis distribution and transportation permits/licenses.
